They are also actively recruiting designers to work out of the enhanced space. The developments ensure that Triad-area homeowners can visualize organization solutions for their home and see the craftsmanship of the latest California Closets organization systems.
“Renovation plans are regularly scheduled for each of our five design centers in North Carolina and Virginia,” explained Joe Marengi, franchise owner. “We established our roots in Greensboro in 2014 and moved to the Friendly Center in 2019. With this refresh, we’re making sure that homeowners always have a place to see the latest trends and our products in person. We invite everyone to visit so they can have an in-person look at the incredible range of colors, finishes, accessories, and storage solutions, or they can book a virtual visit.”

The Greensboro-High Point real estate market is experiencing housing prices on the rise, according to Roofstock. Home values have increased 19.7% over the last year, and over the last five years, Greensboro’s home values have increased more than 63%.
“Greensboro is the third most populated city in North Carolina, which is one of the many reasons we have a design center here,” explained Joe. “When you see this kind of data, where home prices are going up and inventory is low, homeowners tend to stay where they are. They invest in maintaining the beauty and value of their homes, whether it’s for themselves because they can’t afford to move, or because it’s an investment that maintains its value every day.”

Elizabeth graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in interior architecture and has been a designer at the California Closets-Greensboro location for two years. “I use my structural knowledge in architecture to design a beautiful but functional space. It’s so gratifying to work with clients to understand what works or doesn’t work for them and then design multiple solutions to use that space to address their needs and wants. We’re ready to create a system that works with each client’s lifestyle, home, needs and budget.”
Joe co-owns five California Closets franchise locations with his wife Graziella.
