Cheely Earns CoSIDA Baseball Academic All-America Team Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Sean Cheely was named to the CoSIDA Baseball Academic All-America First Team, the national organization announced on Wednesday.
Cheely is a graduate student majoring in criminal justice with a 4.0 grade point average. On the field, Cheely batted .336 in 61 games while hitting eight home runs and driving in 51. He stole a team-high 45 bases which led the Mid-South Conference and ranked fifth in the NAIA.
The 2021-22 Academic All-America Baseball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
