Amazon Alexa can now help you find where to get your dose of vaccine, get tested for Covid-19 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: If you have been looking for where to get your dose of Coronavirus vaccine, Amazon Alexa can now help. Amazon has rolled out a new update in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website and MapmyIndia. With the update Amazon’s voice-based smart assistant Alexa can help users find information on vaccination centers around. It will also give information about the nearest Covid-19 vaccination centres. Users can ask Alexa to share information about the availability of vaccination, Covid-19 helpline numbers, details to contribute for Covid-19 relief and more. Amazon Alexa will source all this information from the CoWin portal, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website and MapmyIndia.

Nearest Covid-19 testing and vaccination center
Alexa will find the nearest Covid-19 testing centre along with the travel distance. You just have to ask, “Alexa, where can I get a Covid-19 test?”
The information will also include the closest Covid-19 vaccination center. Alexa will recognise your location and provide you a list of all the vaccination centres near you. You can use this information to time your visit to the CoWIN portal for booking an appointment.
You can also search for vaccination centers for your friends and family with the help of Amazon Alexa. In case of unavailability of the vaccine, Alexa can help set a reminder to check if the vaccine is available the next day. Just say, “Alexa, open vaccine info.”
