Amazon drops prices on 4K TVs, but Samsung has something better

Unlike the Amazon-designed TVs, Samsung uses its own TizenOS software. Both of these operating systems support the biggest streaming services, including Disney Plus, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV+ and many, many more.

Samsung has its own TV Plus service, which offers free advert-supported TV shows, films, and sports. Meanwhile, Amazon has Freevee, which also relies on adverts to bring boxsets and movies to viewers at no monthly cost.

Samsung revealed its latest and greatest TVs earlier this year at the CES technology show in Las Vegas. And now, the South Korean firm is ready to unleash these all-new screens into homes and there’s a very tempting to promotion to help soften the financial blow. If you head to Samsung’s online store, you’ll find a number of discounts, including £500 cashback when you add select 2023 models into your online shopping baskets.

That’s a decent refund to be handed out by a company that’s releasing its newest – and most exciting – new TV models.

If you didn’t keep up with the latest announcements from CES, you might not be aware of what’s new the 2023 lineup from Samsung. These new TVs represent a big update from Samsung with these latest screens now getting even brighter than before.

They also get an advanced Neural Quantum Processor which uses clever AI to upscale content that might not have been shot in glorious 8K quality. That means everything you watch should appear sharper and more pixel-packed.

Another clever feature of these screens is something called Auto HDR Remastering which uses deep learning technology to analyse and apply real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) effects on Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content.

This is all performed on a scene-by-scene basis with Samsung promising that it makes SDR content look brighter and livelier.

Finally, the range includes better smart functionality with these new TVs able to link up to other devices in the home without needing any additional equipment. This will allow owners to turn off the lights or check smart cameras by simply barking orders at their TV.

Meanwhile, Amazon has announced three custom-designed Smart TVs in the UK. To celebrate the launch, Amazon is offering up to £300 off the price of its brand-new TV hardware. As well as the exclusive discount, you’ll also be one of the first people in Europe to take delivery of these Fire TV-fuelled TVs, which will only be available in the UK and Germany for now.

Amazon is bringing three new Smart TV models to its digital shelves – the price-conscious Fire TV 2-Series, Fire TV 4-Series with 4K Ultra HD resolution, and flagship Fire TV Omni QLED Series with hands-free Alex and (as the name hints) a QLED panel.
