Amazon Great Indian Festival sale dates changed: This is what the company has to say – Times of India

Amazon has changed the starting date of its biggest festival sale of the year — Great Indian Festival sale. The 2021 edition of Amazon Great Indian Festival sale will now start on October 3. The change in date was announced after the arch-rival Flipkart preponed its Big Billion Days sale to October 3. The Flipkart Big Billion sale now starts on October 3 abd runs till October 10. Earlier, Flipkart sale was set to start on October 7 and run till October 12. The change in dates of the Diwali sale shows the importance of these sales for the two companies.
“Our top priority remains customer trust and the interest of our sellers, especially the lakhs of small sellers and the tens of thousands of local shop owners across India. We continue to innovate for our partners, small businesses, and customers, as they gear up for the upcoming festive season. The Amazon Great Indian Festival will now start from Oct 3, 2021, and as always, Prime members will have early access,” said the company in a statement on the change of dates for the Amazon Diwali sale.
Amazon has so far not revealed how long the sale will run. However, like 2020, Amazon Great Indian Sale is likely to run till Diwali which is on November 4 this year. Shoppers can shop in several languages on Amazon other than English and Hindi, these Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bangla and Marathi.
Sale starts early for Amazon Prime members
Like all Amazon sales the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale too will start a day early for Prime members. Amazon has confirmed the same. The company, however, has not revealed how early. Most likely the sale may go live 12 hours earlier for Prime members.
