Amazon Unveils the Next Generation Kindle Paperwhite and New Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition – Times of India

Amazon is here with its next-generation Kindle Paperwhite and its first-ever Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition. Priced at Rs 13,999, Kindle Paperwhite comes with a larger display, a new adjustable warm light, and increased battery life. The new Signature Edition has additional features such as auto-adjusting light and is the first-ever Kindle to offer wireless charging, claims the manufacturer.
Pre-orders are set to begin today, with Kindle Paperwhite shipping from October 27 and the Signature Edition shipping from November 3, as informed by the company.
Price and Availability
Kindle Paperwhite is priced at Rs 13,999 and is available in 8 GB in Black. The new Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is priced at Rs 17,999, available in 32 GB, which can also be bought in Black. Both the devices are available today for pre-order and bring an offer to redeem Kindle credits worth Rs. 500 which can be used in order to purchase eBooks, at up to 80% of the book price.
A considerably warmer display
A 6.8-inch display, combined with 10mm bezels on a sleek, flush-front design, is said to make it even more appealing to users who are keen to have a reading spree. The auto-adjusting front light in the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is supposed to adjust the brightness of the display based on the lighting around for comfortable reading in all conditions.
Charging and storage capabilities
The fast charging USB-C takes only 2.5 hours to reach a full charge, which in turn helps in maximising reading time when using a 10W adapter or even larger in some cases. When talking about the limited edition Kindle, it has been provided with wireless charging and can be used with any compatible Qi wire charger, claims the manufacturer. The 8 GB standard storage on Kindle Paperwhite and a 32 GB storage space on the signature edition are sure to provide the reader with the required storage capacity.
An improved experience
A newly updated experience is made in a way to provide an easy way to toggle between the home screen, your library, or your current read. Some added filters in the library section are quite a handful for sorting menus, having a new collection view, along an interactive scroll bar.
