Apple may discontinue this one of the ‘most-popular iPhone’ series in 2022 – Times of India

Apple is set to launch iPhone 14 series later this year. The lineup will succeed the Apple iPhone 13 series launched in 2021. With the launch of new flagship smartphones, the tech giant may also discontinue the iPhone 11 series. As per a report by iDropNews, sources reveal that the company will stop selling Apple iPhone 11 series with the launch of iPhone 14 series. The report also suggests that the move may also happen as the iPhone 11 is taking away sales from the newly launched iPhone SE 2022, also known as the iPhone SE 3. Apple iPhone 11 is one of the most-popular iPhones. Launched in 2019, it was the highest-selling smartphone globally of 2020.
Although iPhone 11 is comparatively old and slower than the iPhone SE 2022, it has reportedly seen more sales than the new SE model due to an extra rear camera and bigger display. Apple usually reduced the prices of its older smartphones with the arrival of new ones. If this happens this year, iPhone 11 and the iPhone SE 2022 will fall under the same price range.
The report has also revealed that with the launch of new iPhones, the iPhone 12 series will also receive a price cut and will likely be priced at the same level iPhone 11 is currently at.
The iPhone 11 is currently one of the most affordable smartphones sold by Apple. It was launched in 2019 at a starting price of Rs 64,900. Apple iPhone 11 features a 6.1-inch liquid retina HD LCD display. The device is IP68 dust and water resistant. Under the hood, it is powered by A13 Bionic chip. At the rear, it gets a dual-camera system with 12MP ultra wide and wide cameras. It also gets a 12MP TrueDepth front camera.
