Apple stars rolling out iOS 16.4 beta to developers: All the details – Times of India

Apple rolled out the iOS 16.4 beta almost two weeks ago to developers. Now, the company has started rolling the beta 2 update for iOS 16.4 and starting today developers can download the second beta update. iOS 16.4 update brings a slew of new changes and features to the iPhone users. Some of them include a new iPhone lock screen shortcut, new emojis for iPhone and iPad, added features for Web Apps, improved battery optimisation and more.
iOS 16.4 beta 2 now rolling out
As mentioned, the iOS 16.4 beta 2 update with build number 20E5223e is now available for download. However, only registered beta testers will be able to access the update. The update will be rolled out over the air (OTA) and users will install it by heading to the General section within the Settings app.
iOS 16.4 public beta expected to go live soon
Apple usually releases the updated iOS version as public beta testing after a couple of weeks of rolling out the developers preview. It is expected that the public beta for iOS 16.4 will go live later this week.
Apple is also beta testing other software updates alongside the iOS 16.4. This inclues the iPadOS 16.4 beta 2, watchOS 9.4 beta 2, tvOS 16.4 beta 2 and macOS Ventura 13.3 beta 2 updates.
iOS 16.4 new features
Apple iOS 16.4 is set to bring several new features and improvements to iPhones. First, the update includes new lock screen shortcuts for iPhones. Apart from that, the update also includes battery consumption optimisations for Always-On display.
Other features include new emojis, added capabilities for web apps on iPhone and iPad that incldues push notifications support, new HomeKit architecture, 5G support expansion to more regions, iMessage support for rich content previews and more.
