However, Atherton was quick to clarify that Broad’s competitive spirit does not detract from his skill as a bowler. “That is not to say Broad is not skillful, he is highly skilled,” Atherton stated. He emphasised that Broad’s love for competition and his ability to thrive under pressure have been key factors in his longevity and success in the sport.
