Avenue Supermart shares down 0.42% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. traded 0.42 per cent down in Tuesday’s trade at 01:01PM (IST). Around 18,169 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 3070.3 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 3089.8 and Rs 3037.8, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 3328.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 1900.0.

Total market cap of the Avenue Supermarts Ltd. stood at Rs 197674.92 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials

The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 7459.8 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2021, down 1.68 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 7587.32 crore and down 18.58 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 6290.78 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 413.88 crore, up 52.56 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern

As of 31-Mar-2021, domestic institutional investors held 6.07 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 10.17 per cent and the promoters 74.99 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 179.79 and a price-to-book ratio of 12.87. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
