Bending it like Beckham: Like father like son, Romeo Beckham scores a stunning free-kick in MLS next pro

David Beckham is one of the most iconic players in world football. Many remember him for his hip lifestyle, incredible vision and above all, for his breathtaking freekicks. Beckham, who retired from world football after 2013 has been busy with the administration of Inter Miami, where he is a part owner and the president of the club.

Beckham’s 19-year-old son, Romeo, plays for the junior side of the club Inter Miami II where he scored his first goal on 10 July, Sunday. Beckham turned back the clock and reminded the watchers of his father after he scored a stunning free-kick with his right foot.

Swerved over the wall from a distance of about 20 metres, the youngster’s routine looked exactly like his father’s. At 19 years of age, Romeo’s skills astonished people on social media who mentioned that it was only right that the youngster would open scoring for his father’s club with a freekick.

Several of Beckham’s freekicks and long range passes have become iconic over the years. His thunderous hit against Greece back in 2001 to send England to the World Cup is one of the cherished memories in English football. David Beckham played over 100 international matches for England and called time on his international career after playing his last game in 2009.
