NAIA Release

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Robert Carter was named the NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced on Monday.

The national honor comes after being named MSC Bluegrass Division Defensive Player of the week earlier today.

Carter recorded a program-record three interceptions in Lindsey Wilson’s 34-2 win over then No. 4-ranked Keiser (Fla.) on Saturday. Two of the three interceptions came in redzone, including one in the endzone to help prevent the Seahawks from an offensive score on the day.

He also led the top-ranked Blue Raiders with eight tackles, including five solo tackles. Carter is now tied for the NAIA lead in interceptions this season.

Carter earns national weekly honors for the first time in his career.
