Co-operative bank down? Frustrated users left unable to access smartphone banking app

[ad_1]

Hundreds of Co-operative Bank customers are struggling to login to their account using the mobile banking app. Available on iPhone and Android, the app allows customers to check their account balance, set-up standing orders, and transfer money between accounts, and more. It seems online banking, accessed via a web browser from a desktop PC, is unaffected by the current problems.

Those who are struggling to login to the Co-operative Bank have flooded social media to complain about the problems with the smartphone app. Responding to individual complaints on Twitter, the customer care team at the Co-Op Bank have acknowledged the problems. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused, we are working hard to restore services as quickly as we can,” the social media team replied to one frusatred customer.

According to independent service Down Detector, which monitors the performance of web apps and online services by monitoring public social media posts about any issues, there are hundreds of Co-operative customers across the UK right now struggling to check their accounts, send money to colleagues and family.

The issues appear to have started around 3pm BST.
