Dates for OJEE medical counselling process out – Times of India

The state candidates who have qualified in the national eligibility-cum-entrance test-2021 (NEET (UG)-2021) will be eligible for registration for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for the academic session 2021-22.

Purpose of the registration is to prepare a state merit list of the registered candidates (interested to take part in the counselling and admission to MBBS/BDS courses). This list will be used for the subsequent process of counselling and admission in MBBS/BDS courses.
Registration and online application, fee deposit, uploading of documents for online verification will be done between January 12 and January 18. Candidates can raise a query about the process by 5pm on January 19.

Provisional state merit list of registered candidates will be published on January 24 (5pm), while the final state merit list of these candidates will be published on January 27. “Detailed schedule for choice filling, allotment of seats and other processes will be notified in due course of time,” said SK Chand, OJEE chairman.

Registration means creating a candidate’s own username and password for logging in to the online counselling site. After logging-in to the site, the candidate must fill up the online application form, make online payment of registration fee of Rs 1000 and upload required documents (in pdf format only) for online verification. Candidates must check their email ID regularly during counselling for any message.

Earlier, OJEE had decided to hold an online counselling process for these candidates from November 29. But it was postponed because the medical council committee (MCC) under the Union ministry of health and family welfare did not issue the notification to start the seat allotment process for all-India quota.

Admission will be conducted for 1450 MBBS seats in Odisha this year up from 1350 seats last year. Odisha has eight state-run and two private-run medical colleges with 1450 seats besides 500 seats of two deemed to be universities. While OJEE authorities hold counselling for the 10 medical colleges (including two private ones), the deemed to be universities have their different arrangement for admission of their 500 MBBS seats.

The OJEE, which conducts the medical counselling process in Odisha, will allot only 85 percent of medical seats leaving the 15 per cent to all-India quota. After admission into the national quota, the left-out (vacant) seats will be handed over to the state.
