NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top 25 Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Eight Mid-South Conference Teams are mentioned in the third regular season NAIA Football First Down PlayBook Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced on Monday.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) sits atop the poll with 444 points and 18 of the 19 first-place votes. The Blue Raiders are 5-0 this season and 2-0 in Bluegrass Division play. Lindsey Wilson hosts Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday.
Keiser (Fla.) remained at No. 6 after earning 353 points in the poll. The Seahawks are 4-1 and 1-0 in the Sun Division. Keiser resumes Sun Division play on Saturday when they travel to Southeastern (Fla.)
Reinhardt (Ga.) moved up one spot to No. 11. The Eagles earned 268 points in the poll and are 3-2 this season and 1-0 in the Appalachian Division. Reinhardt travels to Point (Ga.) Saturday.
Georgetown (Ky.) fell five spots to No. 13. The Tigers earned 221 points in the poll and are 4-1 this season and 1-1 in the Bluegrass Division.
Faulkner (Ala.) moved up three spots to No. 17. The Eagles garnered 160 points in the poll. Faulkner is 5-0 with a 2-0 record in the Appalachian Division. The Eagles are back in action on October 23 when they travel to Reinhardt.
St. Thomas (Fla.) makes the top 25 for the first time this season and in the program’s history. The Bobcats received 36 points and are slotted 24th in the poll after starting the season 6-0. St. Thomas steps out of Sun Division play when the travel to University of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saturday.
Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberlands (Ky.) are in the receiving votes section of the poll with 26 and 18 points, respectively.
Northwestern (Iowa) sits in second with 425 points while Morningside (Iowa) is third with 412 points and the final first-place vote. Grand View (Iowa) and Concordia (Mich.) round out the top 5 with 392 and 377 points, respectively.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
The next regular season poll is scheduled to come out on Monday, October 18.
