EU proposes new mandatory Type-C port law on electronic device, Apple likely most affected | Digit
In a rather forward-thinking move, the European Commission has proposed a new law, that is passed, will force all smartphone manufacturers to include a Type-C port on all their devices. This means that if the law is passed, we could be seeing Apple being the company that has to catch up to the rest. The law is designed to keep e-waste to a minimum and essentially make things easier for people who want to use one charger to charge all their devices. Even on a logical note, the move makes sense as it forces obstinate companies to fall in line with more consumer-friendly practices.

A single charger will be more convenient for people and will reduce electronic waste.
