Explained: Gmail multi-send mode, what is it, benefits and more – Times of India

In the world of online sales and marketing, sending mass emails to a large list of contacts at once is important. However, the regular bulk email option in Gmail where you are supposed to add email addresses directly into the ‘To’ or ‘CC/BCC’ section doesn’t serve the purpose as each email needs to be personal and must be sent individually to each user as a part of a mass marketing campaign. This also becomes important in the case of newsletters and announcements.
Thankfully, Gmail has a feature called ‘multi-send’ mode that allows users to send an individual email to each recipient. Here we have explained everything you need to know about the feature.
Gmail multi-send: The feature, benefits and more
Gmail’s multi-send feature basically lets users add multiple recipients at once and send them individually. What this means is that each recipient will receive the email as an individual email. If you can remember, a mass email sent in regular mode marks all the recipients in the same mail and users get to see all the recipients (except when added in BCC). When you reply to that email as Reply all, all the other recipients will receive the reply you’ve sent. Now, this is fine when you are dealing with an office team or discussing something as a group. But, this setup becomes inefficient in the case of marketing, newsletters and announcements. This is where the Gmail multi-send feature comes in handy.
Another benefit of multi-send mode is that it automatically adds an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the message that gives recipients the option to opt out of future emails.
Gmail multi-send: How to enable and use it
– On your computer, open Gmail
– At the top left, click Compose
– From the toolbar at the bottom, click Turn multi-send mode on/off toggle
– Choose your recipients
While in multi-send mode, you can add up to 1,500 recipients in the “To” field and a maximum of 1 recipient in the “Cc” or “Bcc” field. Any recipient added to the “Cc” or “Bcc” field will be copied on every single outgoing email.
Do note that the multi-send mode is only available for Google Workspace users.
