Facebook Messenger DOWN: Is Facebook not working? Thousands unable to login after outage

Facebook and Messenger users are currently unable to login and access the social media apps.

The Facebook and Messenger servers are currently down, leaving users unable to login to the app, post updates and check their feeds.

The Facebook server status makes grim reading for fans, who have complained about not being able to access the social media platform.

Independent website Down Detector has received thousands of reports that both Facebook and Messenger aren’t working.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world.

The Down Detector outage map shows that the Facebook issues are affecting users in the UK, Europe and the US.

And it’s not just Facebook that has been affected by the server crashes, as WhatsApp and Instagram also go down.

Facebook is yet to acknowledge the server problems on other platforms, which has led to users posting about their frustrations on the likes of Twitter.

One Facebook user writes: “Thanks twitter to confirm us that WhatsApp Instagram and Facebook are down.”

This view was shared by another user, who writes: “Thank God twitter is working.”

The Twitter love continues, with another user posting: “How will Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp decide to go down right when I posted my new YouTube video? It’s up to y’all on Twitter now!”

The news comes just a few days after Facebook confirmed plans to address all of the vaccination conspiriacy theories appearing on the platform.

The company has now said that it will add labels to posts about the vaccines to curb the spread of false information.

In a Facebook post, the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “The data shows the vaccines are safe and they work. They’re our best hope for getting past this virus and getting back to normal life.

“I’m looking forward to getting mine, and I hope you are too.”
