Fortnite: How To Mark Enemies

There are plenty of ways that Fortnite allows you to work together as a team, be it by sharing your healing items, resurrecting a fallen squadmate, or simply providing cover fire so that your pals can reposition for a sneaky kill. Perhaps one of the most useful features, though, is the pinging system, which allows you to mark enemies, weapons, and items for your squad so that they can easily redirect their attention as needed. Here’s how to mark enemies in Fortnite.

While a single click of the middle mouse button–or left on the d-pad for console players–will let you mark items and locations with the ping button, marking enemy locations requires you to double-tap the ping button. By double tapping in the vicinity of your foes, you’ll mark the location with a red marker to indicate that there’s trouble afoot.

The Falcon Scout item lets you fly around and ping your foes' locations more efficiently.

Of course, the game currently features an easier method for pinging your foes by way of the Falcon Scout. If you can get your hands on this useful mechanical bird, you can fly it around and use its “caw” to mark the locations of enemies nearby by pinging a small area rather than marking the miniscule point of your reticule. This is an especially useful option, as it will show the exact locations of your opponents to both you and your teammates, giving you an upper hand if you choose to engage them.
