Free fries to cheaper rides: here are some deals for those who have been vaccinated in S’pore

Singapore’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign is in full swing.

As of June 21, 52 per cent of Singaporeans have received their first dose of the vaccine, while 36 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated.

The next milestone is for two-thirds of the population to receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by early July. To achieve this goal, Singapore plans to add 500,000 slots for those making their first-dose appointments between now and mid-July.

The government also aims to cover two-third of the population with both doses by National Day, which falls on August 9.

To support the vaccination efforts and encourage Singaporeans to get the vaccine, several companies in Singapore have stepped forward to provide promotions and freebies for those who have gotten their jab.

The free buns are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and are available with the purchase of at least one menu item.

To bring home the free dish, members of the public will have to present proof of vaccination upon ordering.

2. Grain: 25% off meal plans

Grain is a Singapore startup that was founded to offer health-conscious, taste-conscious and everyday meals, working with their own team of chefs and delivery fleet in a so-called “full-stack” model.

To support the vaccination efforts, Grain is offering 25 per cent off one week of meal plans.

In a Facebook post, Grain showed its support for the government’s vaccination efforts, stating that getting vaccinated is “crucial in curbing the spread” of Covid-19.

Customers who have gotten their shot can share their vaccination records with the team at Grain to redeem 25 per cent off a week of healthy and tasty meals.

Good deals for getting vaccinated

At a press conference, the multi-ministry task force tackling Covid-19 said that larger gatherings and Covid-19 testing in lieu of the Stay Home Notice is being considered for vaccinated individuals.

Furthermore, with higher vaccination numbers, Singapore will be looking to live with Covid-19 as an endemic disease.

However, there are some individuals who are still sitting on the fence and unsure about whether they should receive the vaccine.

Besides the health benefits that come with the vaccine, more promotions and deals by Singaporean retailers might be one of the ways to incentivise more Singaporeans to get jabbed.
