Samsung has launched a limited edition of the Galaxy Watch 4 as a part of the company’s eco-friendly campaign. The South Korean tech giant has collaborated with fashion and apparel brand Black Yak to launch a new variant of the company’s latest smartwatch. The Galaxy Watch 4 Black Yak Edition is made for mountaineers and will be available in South Korea soon. The box in which the new Galaxy Watch will arrive is expected to contain — an exclusive Black Yak strap, a Black Yak watch face, a Black Yak tumbler bag and a coupon that offers a 40 per cent discount on Black Yak products. The vice president of Samsung Electronics Korea, Jinhae Kim, has said that this new product “pursues both smart outdoor activities and sustainable eco-friendly values. ” Both companies have plans to collaborate further in the future to develop apps for various outdoor activities.

The Black Yak limited edition of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to be available in South Korea from June 15. The 40mm variant of this watch is likely to be priced at KRW 279,000 (around Rs 17,200) and the 44mm option might carry a price tag of KRW 309,000 (around Rs 19,100). The limited edition of the smartwatch will be available for purchase through Samsung’s South Korean website.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Black Yak Edition specifications
The limited edition of the smartwatch supports hiking and mountaineering and has multiple features that are related to these activities and even has dedicated fitness modes to track them as workouts. During lunchtime, the custom watch face is claimed to change its hand colour from red to green to remind users to clean all the disposable products that they have used while hiking.
This feature is also part of Black Yak’s eco-friendly campaigns that include activities like — ‘PlustIC’ which combines the words Plus and Plastic and suggests recycling PET bottles or the ‘Clean Mountain Campaign’ where users can do “plogging” (which is picking up trash while jogging).
Apart from these, the limited edition of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will have similar specifications as the original smartwatch.
