GBU launches cutting-edge courses, eyes foreign students – Times of India
This year, some 3,672 seats are being offered under various undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes. Last year, the university admitted only 1,900 students of a total of 3400 offered seats for which it received some 10,000 applications. And for the second year in a row, GBU will conduct its admission process online. The last date for application is June 21, while online classes will begin from August 2.
“We hope to receive some 500 or more applications from international students this year and we have increased our international outreach programme. The university has mostly received applications from abroad through ICCR,” said Bhagawati Prakash Sharma, vice chancellor of GBU.
The new programmes on the platter are Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Data Science and Forensic Neuropsychology and more. The university will conduct online tests for 111 programmes while admission for 13 other courses will be done on the basis of merit. GBU offers 1,410 seats for undergraduate programmes, 480 for integrated, dual-degree programmes, 1,230 for PG programmes, 17 for MPhil programmes, 73 for doctoral programmes, 107 for BTech and 355 for diploma and certificate courses.
“The admission process will be conducted online and the new session will start by the end of July. Classes shall commence from the first week of August on online mode till the situation permits us to allow students back on the campus,” Sharma added.
