Road Test
My son Harrison always goes to The Clinic when he has a skin crisis – even when living in London.
The lowdown Kaye Scott at The Clinic in Sydney has been my son Harrison’s go-to person for any skin concerns ever since he was in his teens. She’s nursed him through sensitivity and spots and now he wants her advice regarding a flare-up of rosacea. He’s already seen a dermatologist in London, where he’s been living for the past five years, but wants to know how to keep his complexion on an
even keel, so he’s set up a consultation with Kaye via Zoom to get her advice on how to care for his skin while waiting for the prescription creams to do their thing. Kaye explains to Harrison that “rosacea is a skin condition that typically presents as erythema and flushing”.
Downtime Forty-five minutes.
Pain factor None.
Results The prescription creams are kicking in but Harrison feels better now that he has a home skincare regimen.
Where to get it For a complimentary skin consultation, go to theclinic.net.au.
At home Kaye recommends Cosmedix Elite Reduce (cosmedix.com, $83), a blend of jojoba, rosehip oil, willow herb and the potent antioxidant totarol, to de-stress my skin and help reduce redness. She also suggests applying La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 (adorebeauty.com.au, $18), a barrier cream that keeps out nasty irritants while hydrating and soothing.
