Google Chrome may make it easier for you take capture a screenshot – Times of India

Google Chrome is reportedly working on a new feature that will make it easier for users to take screenshots. As per a report by WindowsLatest, the tech giant is testing a new in-browser tool that will help users capture a screenshot without leaving the browser. For those who are unaware, Google already offered a screenshot tool for Android users and now the company is planning to roll out similar functionality in Chrome browser users on Windows 11, Windows 10, macOS and ChromeOS.
According to the report, the feature will be Google’s implementation of the Web Capture tool offered by Microsoft Edge. The tool allows users to capture a certain section of the browser and copy the image to clipboard or edit it.
It is worth noting that while the Web Capture tool in Edge only allows you use the Windows Inking feature to edit the screenshot, the screenshot tool on Chrome opens the screenshot in a separate window that has numerous editing options.
If you wish to try the new screenshot tool on the Chrome browser, you can do so by enabling it by following these steps:

  1. Install Chrome Canary or Chromium.
  2. Visit chrome://flags through the address bar.
  3. Enable “Desktop Screenshots” and “Desktop Screenshots Edit Mode” flags.
  4. Relaunch the browser.
