Google confirms it is launching a Pixel device at I/O – Times of India

Google I/O, the company’s annual developer’s conference, will take place on May 10. In the run-up to the event, multiple reports suggested the announcements that the company is expected to make. In the latest development, Google has revealed what people can look forward to at the event.
In a tweet, Google said that it will make announcements on Android OS, artificial intelligence (AI), Pixel devices and more.
“Be the first to learn about Google’s new products, hardware and AI advancements. Google I/O is open to everyone online. Tune in to watch the keynotes streaming live from Mountain View, CA,” the company said.

Google Pixel at I/O
Rumours have been suggesting that the company will announce the Pixel Fold foldable smartphone from Google, the Pixel 7a and may give a sneak peek at the Google Pixel 8. Last year, the company announced the Pixel 7 series at Google I/O.
Meanwhile, Google India has confirmed the launch of a Pixel smartphone, which could be the Pixel 7a. The image tweeted by the handle suggests a Pixel 7-like design with the visor having the metal build and dual rear camera setup. It shows the phone in a Blue colour variant.
The phone will launch in India on May 11 and will be available on Flipkart.

AI products at I/O
Google I/O has historically been a stage where the company launches and showcases mainly software-related applications. With AI being the talk of the town for the last few months, Google is expected to showcase various AI-related capabilities that it will incorporate into its products. Google launched the Bard AI chatbot earlier this year so expect some updates on that front.
Android 14 at I/O
Google is also likely to showcase a few features coming in the next iteration of Android OS. The company has already released the first Beta of Android 14. It is built around privacy, security, performance, developer productivity, and user customisation.
