google: Google Drive’s new feature makes it easier for users to find stored files – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Google Drive is undoubtedly a central place where you will find most of your important documents. Now, in order to further improve the user experience, the tech giant has rolled out a new feature called location column in the Search, Recent, Starred and Trash web views of Google Drive.
The company claims that this feature makes it easier for you to differentiate between similarly-named files stored in different locations and find exactly what you’re looking for at a much faster rate. You will notice the ‘Location’ column in the list view when you are in Search, Recent, Starred, and Trash sections.
The Location column will consist of the file name, owner, last modified and size of the file.
This new search feature is available for all the Google Workplace customers and G Suite basic and business users.
Recently, Google added new shortcuts to Google Drive for better file management.
The company added the ability to use keyboard shortcuts cut, copy and paste in Google Drive.
Now the popular shortcuts Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V work on Google Drive. You can now use Ctrl+X to cut, and Ctrl+V to paste files. The addition of shortcuts will make it easier for users to move files and they no longer have to drag and drop files. This will also save time as you can now copy one or more files and move them to new locations in the Drive.
