Google may offer seven kinds of bands with Pixel Watch – Times of India

The Pixel Watch — being the first from Google — has generated a lot of curiosity. The tech giant gave a glimpse of the Pixel Watch at its annual developer conference in May this year. The Pixel Watch is expected to launch later this year. A report by 9to5Google details what kind of straps/bands that may come with the Pixel Watch.

Apple Watch-inspired bands for Pixel Watch

The report suggests that Google could launch as many as seven different styles for Pixel Watch bands. These seven styles may include Stainless steel mesh band; a Link bracelet, two leather straps, Fabric band, Stretch band, and a Silicone band.
The stainless steel mesh band sounds very similar to Apple’s Milanese loop band. The report says that the clasp will be magnetic and could come in three colours — silver, black and gold to match the Pixel Watch case colours.
Google could also offer a link bracelet — metal bands — with “each link connecting to the piece before and after it”, says the 9to5Google report. Notably, Apple also offers a link bracelet style band but it is extremely expensive. In India, the link bracelet band for Apple Watch costs a whopping Rs 39,999 — just slightly less than the Watch Series 7 and considerably higher than the cost of the Watch SE.
Apart from this, Google could have two types of leather bands for the Pixel Watch. Other Apple Watch style bands that the Pixel Watch may bring along are the stretch and fabric bands. These will be similar to the Solo Braided Loop band that Apple sells.
It is still not clear whether the Pixel Watch will come to India or not. Google hasn’t confirmed the availability of its first smartwatch. Going by Google’s track record in the past few years, it’s hard to say whether the Pixel Watch will make its way to the Indian shores. Let’s wait and watch (pun unintended).
