Google starts rolling out Chrome 91 version, fixes 32 vulnerabilities – Times of India

Internet search giant Google has started rolling out a new software update for its web browser — Google Chrome — bringing it to version 91.
The company has released Chrome 91 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac and Linux along with Chrome 91 (91.0.4472.77) for Android. Both these new versions are expected to roll out over the coming days or weeks.
This new latest Google Chrome version comes with a number of fixes and improvements.
In terms of new features, the Google Chrome version 91 comes with quite a few enhancements.
With this update, the collapsed Tab Groups will take up less space and freeze pages to free up space. This will exclude tabs that play audio, hold a web or IndexedDB lock, capture video, audio, window or display.
Also, PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) will be able to start automatically when users log into their OS/account. Android apps for Chrome on tablets will now request the desktop versions of sites rather than the mobile variant if the screen size is large enough. However, smaller tablets will continue to request the phone version.
Chrome 91 for iOS will warn users if they enter saved passwords on a known phishing site.
As part of design enhancements, the Google Chrome version 91 comes with new checkboxes, text fields, buttons, select menus, and other form controls.
The 91 version of Google Chrome also comes with a bunch of security bug fixes too. Of the total of 32 vulnerabilities, eight were marked as ‘High’ severity.
