Hausla: JKTPO’s women empowerment programme enters into Phase-II – Times of India
Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) under aegis of Department of Industries of Commerce moves to the next step on their initiative called “Hausla”- a programme aimed to help women entrepreneurs of J&K to overcome financial, legal, social and marketing challenges in their business ventures. The programme was formally launched by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on 29th June 2021 at SKICC Srinagar and the online ceremony was for the 1st batch of 118 selected women entrepreneurs from J&K. The program is supported by and partnered with India SME Forum, Ni-MSME & Mission Youth J&K as program partners, J&K Bank as financial partner and Flipkart as e-Commerce partner.
Today’s workshop has eventually led to start of second stage of Hausla program which will include one to one mentoring of women entrepreneurs. In this workshop all the partners of JKTPO conducted sessions on capacity building and credit facilitation.
Further the session launched a Hausla credit scheme specially curated by J&K bank in association with JKTPO in presence of Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce as chief guest and Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, CEO, mission Youth J&K as guest of honor
Also, JKTPO and J&K Bank joined hands by Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for promotion of Women Entrepreneurship in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at a event held yesterday.
Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, in his special address highlighted the importance of workshop and Hausla program in providing opportunities to women to spread their wings and assured that department of I&C is committed to empowering women entrepreneurs. He said that ‘presence of women entrepreneurs here kindles my confidence of prosperous future for the Union Territory.’
Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO Mission Youth emphasized that mission Youth J&K in its tie up with ‘Hausla’ will ensure full support to the women entrepreneurs in their journey of becoming inspiration for Women across J&K.
“Covid-19 situation rmay have slowed down a few entrepreneurs, but it has clearly not dented the spirit of entrepreneurship in this country. Tejaswani and all such schemes will support Women entrepreneurs, he added.
Ms Ankita Kar, Managing Director JKTPO while welcoming the participants highlighted the Journey of Hausla Program and its important role in Development of effective leadership skills, acquisition of efficient management practices, exploration of external growth opportunities.
Ritu Singh Chairperson FICCI for JKL chapter explained to the audience various prospects and methods of getting better industrial connects and called on the Hausla participants for widely participate in future program.
Training and mentoring partner India SME forum and Nim-sme gave a detailed understanding of training programme so far while Flipkart also conducted informative session for immediate on boarding of all women entrepreneurs on Samarth platform.
The workshop was also attended by officers from Department Industries & Commerce and was graced by more than 100 women entrepreneurs.
