Here’s when Oppo will launch Android 12-based Color OS 12 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: As an annual ritual, Google announced the public beta for Android 12 at its annual developer conference Google I/O 2021. During the keynote, the company introduced the redesigned user interface and privacy settings which will come with Android 12. Last month, Google released the final beta for the upcoming Android 12 operating system. Now smartphone maker Oppo has confirmed the timeline for the rollout of ColorOS 12 based on Android 12.
Oppo has confirmed that the ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 will be introduced by mid-to-late September. The company has also released downloadable official wallpapers of ColorOS 12. The wallpapers come with a resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels.
Apart from the wallpaper, the company also posted a short video with various geometric shapes that forms into the logo of the ColorOS 12. The wallpaper and the video hints at the colourful UI of ColorOS 12. On the other hand, leakster, Digital Chat Station also posted an image of the ColorOS 12 that shows the UI on mobile phones, tablets and watches.
This announcement by Oppo also hints that Google will soon launch the Pixel 6 smartphones along with Android 12. If various rumours are to be believed then Google is expected to launch the new Pixel smartphones just a day ahead of the iPhone 13 launch.
Recently, Oppo accidentally revealed the release date of ColorOS 12. According to Oppo’s AI assistant Breeno, the next-generation operating system will be released on September 13 at 3 pm China time.
The date was revealed by the assistant when a user happened to ask when Oppo Color OS 12 would launch. The user then posted a screenshot of the phone’s screen revealing the release date.
