Chilean icon wine estate Seña is pleased to announce the release of the 2020 vintage onto the fine wine market. This release aids in the continued highlight of Chilean terroir being among the best in the world. Seña 2020 takes its rightful place among some of the finest Bordeaux blends, Super Tuscans and other sought-after, renowned wines.
Seña, translating to “a Sign to the World,” is the culmination of a vision shared by two pioneers in wine, Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi, that tied their dreams and efforts together to give life to Chile’s first icon wine, Seña, in 1995. Since then, it has been an exhilarating journey to research, envision, and craft a Chilean fine wine. Now, with the introduction of the 26th vintage, Seña will persist in carving the way for high-end Chilean expressions in the US market.

Seña’s vineyard, in the Aconcagua Valley, has unique terroir that is influenced by the cool breezes of the Pacific Ocean, just 25 miles away. The deeply-rooted vines embrace the rich, predominantly volcanic soils farmed under biodynamic principles, which helps deliver optimal amounts of minerals and nutrients. The terroir’s never-mistaken quality creates a premier site for the red grape varieties that go into crafting Seña.
The 2020 vintage of Seña, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot, is showing as a dense, powerful and rich wine with rounded tannins. Francisco Baettig, Seña’s Technical Director, describes the wine as: “a deep and beautiful garnet-red color with violet hues, the 2020 Seña presents complexity on the nose with multiple layers of fresh red-fruit aromas such as cherries and raspberries accompanied by violets and pleasing touches of dill and rosemary, all framed by light notes of sweet spices. The palate shows young fruits, more sweet spices, and smooth balsamic tones. It is fresh and juicy with elegant fine-grained tannins that create a silky and pleasing sensation. The 2020 vintage of Seña shows elegance and balance with an ample and profound finish.”
Having already received scores of 97-98 points, the 2020 vintage is no exception to the consistent greatness that Seña exudes to the world. The quality measures implemented in the vineyards and winemaking, along with Seña’s distinct attention and commitment to sustainable practices, is charismatically shown through all the vintages, including the 2020 release.
Seña is released worldwide on La Place de Bordeaux, as well as imported into the US by Shaw-Ross, at a suggested retail price of $150.
