IIM-Vizag graduate pens book on personal finance for millennials – Times of India
Titled as ‘Casual Finance – A Millennial’s Guide to Personal Finance’, the book offers insights into the fundamentals of earning, spending, saving, investing and hedging against financial risk. The foreword for the book, which would be released on June 23, Wednesday, was penned by Dr Radhakrishnan Pillai and CA Akhilesh Bhargava.
Anuj, who is all set to join his job with a leading domestic institutional investor (DII) on June 24 which he secured during the campus placements at IIM-V, said that the primary motivation behind the book was the lack of financial knowledge and literature available in the personal finance domain, especially in the Indian context.
Speaking to ToI, Anuj Suneja, an Applied Psychology graduate from University of Delhi, said that he worked with a diverse range of companies, even including for the Government of Gujarat, and has successfully run start-ups. “This varied experience has exposed me to different outlooks on what money looks like for people of different generations. No school is teaching about managing money, saving taxes, and how to invest. While all these are fundamental and indispensable life skills, there is no one place to learn these. Hence, I decided to write a book that serves the purpose of a one-stop-shop for all the financial needs of millennials and Gen Z. The book would be available on all major e-commerce platforms,” said Anuj.
Director, IIM-Visakhapatnam, Prof M Chandrasekhar, said that he is eagerly looking forward to reading the book. “I am pleased that Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam makes its students not only brilliant managers and entrepreneurs, but also great writers and authors,” said Prof Chandrasekhar.
