Injuries hit Silver Ferns’ leaders ahead of decider
An injury-hit Silver Ferns side will be without two of their leaders when they face the England Roses in Friday’s decider in the Taini Jamison Trophy series in Christchurch.
New captain Gina Crampton in unavailable for a second straight game after injuring her hip in game one on Monday, she is joined on the sidelines by vice captain Sulu Fitzpatrick who hyperextended her knee during training as well as stand-out shooter Tiana Metuarau who is recovering from an adductor strain sustained in Wednesday’s loss.
Kimiora Poi, Jamie Hume and Georgia Tong are brought into the game day 12.
Sam Winders takes on the captaincy role in the must-win match. She is the side’s third captain in as many matches.
The Silver Ferns won the first game of the series 48-42 and the England Roses fought back to win game two 55-45.
