iOS 14.6 update: Here’s why you should not install the iOS 14.6 update on your iPhone for now – Times of India

Apple last week had rolled out a new software update for its iPhone users, bringing it to version iOS 14.6. This update, while not as significant as the iOS 14.5 version, still came with a number of new features and was rolled out almost a month after the previous update.
Since it has been a week since Apple rolled out the iOS 14.6, a lot of iPhone users have installed it across the globe. Some of them are now reporting issues of severe battery drainage since the new software update was installed.
Users have raised the issue on both Apple Support Community and MacRumors forums. Some of them have even flagged it on Twitter too.
The root cause of this excessive battery drainage is not yet known, however, online reports have speculated that the Podcast app has been consuming a lot of power while some are blaming the Music app.
The company has till now not acknowledged the battery drain issues caused by the latest software update, but since it is affecting a mass number of iPhone users, we expect the iOS 14.7 or a iOS 14.6.1 software update rollout soon with a fix for this issue.
iOS 14.6 update features
This OS update for the iPhone offers new features for the Podcasts app. It comes with a new subscription platform for the app. Also, this update comes with a new feature for AirTag. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos support, lossless music — all the new features will be available for iPhone users who have the Apple Music subscription with this software update.
