iOS 16 may bring fresh apps, new ways of system interaction for iPhone users – Times of India

Apple is gearing up to host the WWDC 2022 in the coming month. Just like every year, Apple is expected to unveil the new version of operating systems for its devices at the event. The tech giant will likely introduce us to the iOS 16 OS for iPhones at the annual event. The iOS 16 will be successor to the iOS 15 that the company started to roll out with the launch of iPhone 13 series last year. The iOS 16 will reportedly come with new ways to interact with the system and a few “fresh Apple apps.”
As per latest edition of Power On newsletter by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iOS 16 is unlikely to get a major redesign, however the new OS may bring some new native apps and interactive options.
“While I don’t expect Apple to present a full redesign of the software, there should be major changes across the system, new ways of interacting and some fresh Apple apps. The news about watchOS 9 will be significant as well.” Gurman wrote in his Power On newsletter.
A report by MacRumors suggests the new interactive features in the next iOS version may be the revamped widgets. Apple iPhone users have been waiting for more interactive widgets for quite a while now. Till now, there is no information available about the rumoured new apps in iOS 16.
When it comes to watchOS 9, Gurman previously suggested that the update may come with a refreshed watch face library accompanied by a revamped Power Reserve mode.
Currently, when the Apple Watch is in Power Reserve mode, you can only access the time. The reports suggest that watchOS 9 will expand the features and apps that you can use when the watch is in Power Reserve. The reports further suggest that Apple may also add more health-related features in the next-generation operating system. The features that the company is expected to add includes expanded sleep tracking, medicine management, additional running metrics and others.
