jio 5g phone: This is when Reliance Jio’s affordable Android 5G phone may launch – Times of India

Reliance Jio has announced the date of its 44th annual general meeting (AGM). Reliance Jio AGM 2021 will be held on June 24 at 2 pm. Similar to 2020, this year’s AGM will be organised via video conferencing.
There are more than weeks to go before the company reveals new devices and technology. But, the rumour mill has been abuzz with likely products and gadgets. Top on the list is the roll out of Jio’s 5G services. In December 2020, Mukesh Ambani announced that the company will roll out 5G service by mid-2021.
Another likely product is the Jio’s affordable Android 5G phone. Last year, Jio partnered with Google to jointly develop an entry-level affordable phone. Google also picked up a 7.7 per cent stake in Jio Platforms for Rs 33,737 crore. The company also announced its plan to focus on 5G technology in 2020.
Rumours have it that the upcoming Reliance Jio affordable 5G phone may run on Android Go operating system (OS). It is likely to come with entry-level specifications. It is said to be priced as low as Rs 2,500.
JioBook is another device expected to be announced at the AGM meet 2021. JioBook is the alleged name of the affordable laptop from Reliance Jio. A XDA report earlier this year suggested that the telecom company has partnered with China-based Bluebank Communication Technology to develop the laptop.
The report added that the upcoming laptop may skip Windows. Instead, it may be equipped with forked Android as JioOS. It is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm processor and may offer a screen with 1366×768 resolution.
