Joie Manda launches Encore Recordings, Ned Monahan to join as General Manager – Music Business Worldwide

Music industry veteran Joie Manda has launched Encore Recordings, an independent music company headquartered in Los Angeles.

Manda has over 20 years of experience in the music industry, including almost 10 years at Universal Music Group where, serving most recently as Executive Vice President of Interscope Geffen A&M.

Manda spent the prior decade at Warner Music Group.

In a media release announcing the new  label, Encore says that Manda plans to “bring his entrepreneurial spirit, forward thinking, and passion for music to put Encore Recordings at the forefront of the industry,”

As one of Encore’s first hires, Ned Monahan will become General Manager at Encore as of January 1, 2022.

Monahan has most recently served as Head of Global Hits at Spotify, a position he has held since 2019.

Manda and Monahan previously worked together at Interscope from 2017 to 2019, and prior to his time at Spotify, Monahan served as a marketing director at Interscope.

Along with Monahan, Diana Chung has also joined Encore Recordings as Label Manager.
