Australia’s premier fast bowler Josh Hazlewood would miss the first Test against India which starts on 9 February in Nagpur. Cricket.com.au confirmed on Sunday morning that Hazlewood would at least miss the first Test as a result of a left Achilles niggle. Scott Boland is expected to play in place of Hazlewood in Nagpur.

The report added that Hazlewood could also miss the second Test in Delhi if he fails to get fit in time. There’s only a three-day gap between the Nagpur match and the second Test.

He is the third pacer who is set to miss bowling in the opening Test for Australia after Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green. Both pacers are suffering from finger injuries. Starc has confirmed that he will join the team for Delhi Test, while Green may play in Nagpur but he is not expected to bowl.
