Jurassic World Evolution 2 Receives Movie Tie-In Expansion

The Jurassic Dominion Biosyn expansion has been released for Jurassic World Evolution 2 to coincide with the release of Jurassic World Dominion which was released in theatres on June 10. 

Jurassic World Evolution 2 was released on November 9, 2021. Like its predecessor, the game is a simulation game where the objective is to construct and run a successful prehistoric theme park. Managing the behaviour of dinosaurs, building enclosures, terraforming the landscape and keeping the animals happy are all part and parcel of Jurassic World Evolution 2. 

The new expansion is extensive, featuring a new campaign and accompanying map as well as the most important addition of all, new dinosaurs. As this expansion is essentially a movie tie-in, most of the content draws inspiration from Jurassic World Dominion. In the new campaign, you will be taking over Biosyn’s valley research compound, a location present in the movie. As you expand your dinosaur research, you will gradually unlock the newly added gameplay mechanics. The expansion will also feature characters from the movie franchise, such as Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard). 

A new level for the chaos theory game mode is also included in the expansion. Once again inspired by the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the new chaos theory level will take place at a snowy location in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This level focuses on the new dinosaur wrangling mechanic, whereby the player can corral large herds quickly. Dinosaur rustlers attempting to steal your beloved dinos will attack your range and you’ll have to build up your defences to repel them. These new wrangling and rustler mechanics seem very much rancher-inspired. 

The new dinosaurs added are the Pyroraptor, Therizinosaurus, Dimetrodon and the Quetzalcoatlus. Additionally, new variants and skins from the movie have been added to the game. A fire-themed raptor is pretty damn cool nobody can deny that. 

Jurassic Dominion Biosyn is available now for $19.99 on all platforms that Jurassic World Evolution 2 is released on, these being PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
