Veteran actor Anupam Kher, whose performance in recently released Kashmir Files is drawing accolades has responded to the controversy over the film cast not being invited on the popular programme, The Kapil Sharma Show.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had accused Kapil Sharma and the show makers of not calling the ‘The Kashmir Files’ makers on “their show because they don’t have big commercial star in the movie”.
This sparked a spurring controversy related to ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ for which the comedian was bashed and trolled on Twitter.
The filmmaker’s allegations raged up netizens ‘demanding the boycott of Kapil Sharma’.
But now the lead actor in the film, Anupam Kher has come to Kapil Sharma’s rescue. During a discussion on Times Now, Kher revealed that he was actually invited to TKSS but due to the intense directorial story, he did not feel it was the right platform for film’s promotion.
Kher said he had been on the show quite a few times and believed that the seriousness of his latest release and the light-hearted nature of the show didn’t go well together.
Under fire, Kapil Sharma took to Twitter to share Kher’s interview and take a dig at trolls.
Thank you paji @AnupamPKher for clarifying all the false allegations against me ❤️???? और उन सब दोस्तों का भी शुक्रिया जिन्होंने बिना सच जाने मुझे इतनी मोहब्बत दी ???? खुश रहिए, मुस्कुराते रहिये ???? #thekapilsharmashow #Isupportmyself ???? pic.twitter.com/hMxiIy9W8x
