Kirkland Named NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Pikeville’s (Ky.) Lee Kirkland has been named the NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Monday.

The national honor comes after he was named the Mid-South Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week earlier today.

Kirkland threw for 579 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in Pikeville’s 47-37 victory over (RV) Cumberland (Tenn.). He also scored a rushing touchdown in the game. Kirkland completed 31of his 54 passes with a long of 80. His 579 yards are the second-most in program history.

He earns national weekly honors for the first time in his career.
