NEW DELHI: Abhinav Manohar, Mayank Agarwal, and Devdutt Padikkal emerged as the costliest picks, drawing significant interest from multiple teams, in a highly anticipated player auction for the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament.

Abhinav Manohar, known for his appearances in the IPL with the Gujarat Titans, found himself in high demand, eventually being picked up by Shivamogga Lions for an impressive sum of Rs 15 lakh. Not to be outdone, Mayank Agarwal secured a spot in the Bengaluru Blasters’ roster at a notable price of Rs 14 lakh.
Young batting sensation Devdutt Padikkal, who has already made waves in domestic and IPL cricket, was bought by Gulbarga Mystics for a handsome amount of Rs 13.2 lakh. Meanwhile, veteran batsman Manish Pandey found a new home with Hubli Tigers, who acquired him for Rs 10.6 lakh.

Six teams – Bengaluru Blasters, Shivamogga Lions, Gulbarga Mystics, Hubli Tigers, Mysuru Warriors, and Manguluru Mystics – participated in the auction, showing their intent to build strong squads ahead of the upcoming tournament.
The auction saw over 700 Karnataka cricketers going under the hammer, with franchises closely evaluating players’ performances and potential to strengthen their line-ups.
The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament promises to be an exciting affair, with some of Karnataka’s best talents set to showcase their skills on the field. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on August 13, and cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the thrilling clashes leading up to the final, which is slated for August 29.
