Largest U.S. Carriers Top April On-Time Rankings | Business Travel News
The three largest U.S. carriers took the top three spots for North American April 2022 on-time performance, each posting more than 80 percent of arrivals on time, according to Cirium’s monthly report.
Delta Air Lines led the way with 82.2 percent, followed by United Airlines at 81.2 percent and American Airlines at 80.2 percent. All three also made the top 10 list for global mainline airlines, ranking fifth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

The weighted average for North American carriers, however, slipped again in April, to 70.3 percent, compared with 72.3 percent for March and 75.6 percent for February. Six of the 10 carriers showed month-over-month on-time performance decreases, with just Delta, United, Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air posting improvements.
The report also showed year-over-year growth of 23.2 percent for the number of flights completed.
Cirium for North America reviewed carriers that are in the top 20 percent in terms of flight frequency, total seats and available seat kilometers. A flight is considered on time if the aircraft arrives at the gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.
