Lenovo leads worldwide PC market, claims report – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The worldwide PC market continues to grow through the second quarter of 2021, despite facing a chip shortage. According to the latest report by the research firm IDC, the market shipped a total of 83.6 million units growing 13.2% YoY.
“The PC market’s hot streak continued to drive heavy investments from the supply side including the entry of new vendors as well as additional spend from underdogs”, added the report.
As per IDC, Lenovo leads the PC market followed by HP, Dell, Apple and Acer respectively.

According to the data shared by IDC, Lenovo managed to maintain its lead from Q1, 2021 and captured a 23.6% market share. The second on the list is HP, the company shipped a total of 18.5 million units and captured a 22.2% market share.
Dell captured third place on the list as it shipped 14 million units and recorded a growth of 16.4%
Apple and Acer captured third and fourth slots respectively. Apple has a 7.6% market share while Acer maintained a 7.0% market share.

“With businesses opening back up, demand potential in the commercial segment appears promising. However, there are also early indicators of consumer demand slowing down as people shift spending priorities after nearly a year of aggressive PC buying,” added the report.
Recently, Lenovo launched Yoga Duet 7i and IdeaPad Duet 3 laptops in India. The price of Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i starts at Rs 79,999, whereas, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 comes with a starting price tag of Rs 29,999. The two detachable notebooks are already up for sale in the country. The customers can purchase the IdeaPad Duet 3 in Graphite Grey case and Duet 7i in Slate Grey colour options.
