LSG vs MI: Fans pounce on Manish Pandey for his subdued knock against Mumbai Indians – Proper Test match batting

Manish Pandey hasn’t been at his very best by any means in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-hander played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from 2018 to 2021, after which the Orange Army released him. After registering in the mega auction at a price of INR 1 crore, he went to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who bagged him for INR 4.60 crores.

SRH and the Delhi Capitals (DC) also bid for him, but KL Rahul and Co. secured Pandey’s services. The veteran is yet to play a knock of substance for the Super Giants. In six matches, the right-handed batter has scored only 88 runs at an average of 14.66 and a strike rate of 110. His top score of 38 came against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 16 at the Brabourne Stadium.

On Sunday, April 23, Pandey was greeted with a lot of backlash and trolls on social media after his subdued knock against Rohit Sharma’s men. Pandey came to bat at No.3 after Jasprit Bumrah got rid of the dangerous Quinton de Kock. Thereafter, he was involved in a 58-run stand with Rahul for the second wicket. While Rahul played his shots, Pandey failed to tee off.

He smashed Riley Meredith for a six, but apart from that, failed to get going. He perished to Kieron Pollard while trying to play a pull short by charging down the track. Meredith took a simple catch at the short fine-leg region. Pandey got out with LSG’s score at 85/2 in 11.5 overs. Amidst his knock, Pandey couldn’t evade the wrath of social media.

Here’s how the netizens reacted to Pandey’s knock
