Apple’s MacBook Air laptops with Apple chipsets, the newly-launched cloud-gaming Chromebooks and all other machines that support 2560×1600 pixels or higher resolutions will now be able to enjoy an improved game streaming experience with Nvidia Geforce Now. Nvidia will allow some members of the game streaming platform to enjoy their favourite PC games at higher resolutions on Google Chrome. The company has enabled 1600p resolution game streaming at 120fps for members who are subscribed to the RTX 3080 tier of GeForce Now.
The library of GeForce Now – Nvidia’s cloud gaming service – contains nearly 1,400 games and the technology company keeps adding new titles frequently. The company’s official blog mentions that 11 new games will be added to GeForce Now this week, which includes Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Scorn, The Darkest Tales and more.

What is the RTX 3080 tier
Nvidia introduced the RTX 3080 tier on its GeForce Now game streaming platform in 2021. This new subscription tier offers AI upscaling through DLSS and initially supported 4K resolution at 60fps. The subscription charges have two payment schemes: monthly which is $20 (around Rs 1,600) and and half-yearly that costs $100 (around Rs 8,000).
New cloud-gaming Chromebooks
As per the blog, Nvidia has worked with Google to help the tech giant unveil new Chromebooks which it claims to be the first laptops that are “custom-built for cloud gaming.” These new Chromebooks also feature displays that support 1600p resolution and 120Hz and higher refresh rates.
Nvidia is also offering a free three-month GeForce Now RTX 3080 membership on the purchase of these new laptops through the Chromebook Perks program.

Chromebook gamers will also be allowed to “jump right into over 100 free-to-play titles, “ which will include major franchises like Fortnite, League of Legends and more. Apart from this, Chromebook gamers can also try out other major titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Control and more.
Moreover, the GeForce Now app comes preinstalled on these new cloud gaming Chromebooks.
