Madhya Pradesh: Clarity needed on reopening of playschools – Times of India
The ongoing pandemic has dealt a staggering blow to play schools in Bhopal. More than 60% have shut down over the last one year and others are finding it difficult to get new admissions in playgroups and nursery schools.
With the shutdown of campuses due to the pandemic and many parents working from home, preschools across the state capital are staring at an uncertain future. The Covid scare has forced many parents to put off admissions in playgroups or nursery, with plans to directly admit them in junior KG when things improve.
School owners said, in the absence of clear guidelines regarding the fee payment they are facing several challenges. “Whenever we ask parents to pay the fee, they give several excuses. There is no clarity whether the playschools would charge full fee or reduced fee,” said a school owner without quoting his name.
Such is the situation that several parents have refused to pay fees and changed the schools of their wards. “How to run schools in such a situation? It is really tough for the school owners who had started the campus a few years ago,” said another school owner without quoting her name.
She claimed that play schools contribute a lot when it comes to employment. “Despite being an important part of the society, there is no clarity about our existence,” she added.
