Presentation
A 52-year-old woman presented to the doctor with left anterior ankle pain and foot swelling, decreased range of motion, and gait disturbance that had developed steadily over the past 4-6 weeks. The patient did not recall injuring her foot. She observed that her foot tended to catch on uneven surfaces while walking. On examination, she had weakness of foot dorsiflexion and had a nodule along her left anterior ankle that was palpable. She had a history of diabetes mellitus.
