Indian benchmark indices may remain weak on Thursday on global cues, while trend in SGX Nifty suggests a negative start for equities. Asian stocks extended losses on Thursday as inflation fears routed Wall Street equities.

Wall Street ends lower overnight

Inflation fears routed Wall Street equities on Wednesday after government data showed sharp US price increases in April.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 2%, the S&P 500 dropped 2.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.7%.
