Microsoft Edge update brings new features for users: Key details – Times of India

Microsoft has rolled out new update to its Edge browser. The latest version — 93.0.961.38 — of Edge brings a host of new features and non-security updates to the browser. Here are some of the key features coming to Edge browser:


Better grouping of tabs

In its release notes of the latest Edge update, Microsoft said, “We are turning on tab grouping which provides the ability to categorise tabs into user-defined groups and helps you more effectively find, switch and manage tabs across multiple workstreams.”


Hide the title bar while using Vertical Tabs

Microsoft Edge users will now have the option to hide the title bar while in Vertical Tabs. Simply go to edge://settings/appearance and under the Customise Toolbar section select the option to hide the title bar while in Vertical Tab mode.


Video Picture in Picture (PiP) from hover toolbar

When you hover over a supported video, a toolbar will appear that allows you to view that video in a PiP window. However, this feature is currently available for macOS users only. Microsoft hasn’t mentioned when it will roll out for other platforms.


New policy to stop implicit sign in

The ImplicitSignInEnabled policy allows system administrators to disable implicit sign-in on Microsoft Edge browsers
Microsoft has clarified that the updates will each users in the next couple of days.
In other Microsoft related news, the tech giant is gearing up to launch Windows 11. The latest update to Windows will officially be rolled out on October 5. Microsoft has also scheduled a hardware event for September where it is expected to unveil new Surface devices, including the Surface Duo 2 — its foldable smartphone.
